Under the brand names ‘Once was Lost’ and ‘May Home’ these are collectable items that will stand the test of time.
This extensive range is designed in Australia and is perennially chosen by our customers who wish to gift something special or who simply want to treat themselves.
The collection includes generous throws and towels for both bath and beach; they all come in natural colours, fine stripes, 100% handspun and hand woven cotton by expert weavers. These sustainable products also provide work for the local villagers. Cushion covers that coordinate, complement your home decor.
Really popular, from the same source, is the range of scarves, from finest linen to sheer cottons, all twice washed and using natural plant dyes to produce the most authentic colours.
Designed in Australia, the owners visited the makers in Ethiopia, where they saw first hand how these extraordinary pieces are made. Of course, using machinery would lower the prices but would not achieve the wonder of owning a fully hand produced garment to invest in, as well as support these local communities.
Other artisan gift lines include jewellery in silver and waxed cotton, precious stone bracelets and small ceramic bowls from Japan.
